Eddie Guardado Stars and Strikes Bowling Event: 1/26/14

For the second straight year I decided to attend Eddie Guardado's Stars and Strikes celebrity bowling tournament. The tournament raises money for Guardado's foundation, which benefits children with autism, and for the first time 7x MLB All-Star Michael Young was also hosting the event.

After doing well at last years event, I had high hopes going into the day, especially with the guest list that included Adrian Gonzalez, Ian Kinsler, and Adrian Beltre among others. Within the first few minutes of arriving, I got on the board as first year host Michael Young came over and signed. I was able to get Young sweet spot on a ROMLB.

After Young, "Everyday" Eddie Guardado came over and signed. Unfortunately, I didn't have anything for Guardado to sign after getting a couple of cards signed last year.

Next in was former AL Rookie of the Year Nomar Garciaparra. Nomar was a surprise guest, which turned out to be the theme of the night. I had gotten Nomar twice previously, but decided to get another ROMLB signed by the former baseball icon.

After Nomar, my main goal goal of the day, Ian Kinsler, came over and signed. Surprisingly I've never been able to get Kinsler's autograph before, so I was definately happy to get his auto now that he's with Detroit.

My final auto of the day came from another surprise guest, Brian Wilson. I was able to get Wilson earlier this year when he played his lone game with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. However, I decided to get another ROMLB signed by the bearded closer to use as future trade bait.

Ironically, I've already made a deal for my other Wilson ball, so my plan to get another ball worked out.

Before leaving, I was able to get a photo with former Angel outfielder Gary Matthews Jr, who was another surprise guest.

Some other surprise guests included 2002 WS champs Adam Kennedy, Troy Percival, and Garrett Anderson, all of whom I passed on getting. Unfortunately, I missed out on Adrian Beltre, who was very choosy who he signed for, and I also decided to pass on getting A-Gon, who was running with a blue Sharpie. A big shout out to Scotty, Alex, Rob, Kyle, David P, Crocker, Mike, Benson, and Tyler as well as the other graphers I ran into. I can't wait for another great year of graphing in 2014! Thanks for reading!

***I apologize for such a late post and the lack of blogging lately. I had problems publishing this post and look forward to sharing more of my experiences once the baseball season starts. Thanks as always for your support!***
